Smartphone price hikes do not seem to have any end in line. Popular phones just continue upping their prices, forcing consumers to pay for every update. Samsung, known as the highest-priced manufacturer of smartphones, has been setting the trend for very expensive costs, and maybe the Galaxy S25 won’t be an exception either.
Samsung hiked up the price of three of its flagship phones in 2024: Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. All were priced at $100 more than their predecessor models. If things follow this trend for the Galaxy S25 series, that would make the devices just a little less affordable to price-sensitive buyers.
While Samsung has not revealed how much its flagship phone will cost, rumors are filling the air as we wait for the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is due to take place in late January. If the Galaxy S25 series gets another price hike, it might lose some of its loyal followers. Many believe that if it continues to increase its prices, especially in this competitive market, it would be a huge blunder for the tech giant.
More and more consumers have grown wary of paying more money for smartphones, primarily because the mid-range variants have started to provide many impressive features at more reasonable prices. Samsung needs to innovate in such a manner that high-end features would justify this increased price, thus convincing consumers to pay the additional amount for the Galaxy S25.
The Galaxy S25, in the end, will succeed or fail based on the amount of innovation and affordability that will balance out in its latest flagship from Samsung.
