June Security Update Now Available for Samsung Galaxy A55 and Other Devices. As June ends, Samsung is diligently rolling out the June security patch to all eligible Galaxy devices. The Galaxy A55, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy A05s recently received the latest security update. This follows updates for dozens of other models, including all flagship and foldable devices released in the past three years.
Samsung Galaxy A55 Receives June Security Update:
The Galaxy A55, Samsung’s premium yet affordable A-series model launched in March, is now receiving the June 2024 Security Maintenance Release (SMR). This device is set to receive monthly security updates for at least three years, with a gradual decrease in frequency after that, continuing with security patches until 2029 and OS upgrades up to Android 18.Currently, the new security build for the Galaxy A55 is available in Europe and Asia, with firmware version numbers A556BXXS3AXF2 and A556EXXS3AXF3 respectively. Although this model isn’t available in the United States, it is accessible in various other regions, where the June SMR is expected to roll out soon.
Samsung’s Commitment to Security:
This month’s security patches address 59 vulnerabilities affecting Galaxy devices. Among these, Google has fixed 37 high-severity vulnerabilities in the core Android operating system. The remaining 22 vulnerabilities pertain to Samsung’s proprietary software and Galaxy components, showcasing Samsung’s dedication to maintaining robust security across its devices.
