The OnePlus 13R is a new upgraded variant of last year’s OnePlus 12R, and not the exact competitor of this year’s flagship variant, the OnePlus 13, but with a meaningful upgrade for users seeking premium features at affordable prices.
New Design Build with Enhanced Display
This year’s OnePlus 13R now comes with an aluminum chassis to give it an even more ergonomic design, allowing it to become thinner and lighter as well. It weighed just 206 grams and had shrunk by 0.8mm, yet fit in a more substantial 6,000 mAh battery. That IP65 rating ensures dust-proofing and immunity to water jets.
It comes in Astral Trail and Nebula Noir colors, which are accompanied by a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with 450ppi pixel density. The device has an adaptive refresh of 1-120Hz for smoother performance. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for excellent video. The screen is now Gorilla Glass 7i, so it’s tougher, and peaks at up to 4,500 nits for outstanding outdoor legibility.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 13R is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, along with UFS 4.0 storage options at 256GB or 512 GB. This gives faster app performance, seamless multitasking, and smooth gaming.
The device comes with OxygenOS 15 pre-installed on top of Android 15, based on a refreshed and enhanced software support policy: four years of OS updates plus six years of security patches.

One of the most exciting upgrades OnePlus has made is the camera system. It has included a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and up to 4x lossless zoom. Although it does not feature OIS, it is quite good in portrait and zoom photography. The main 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor features OIS and a wide f/1.6 aperture for sharp images and 4K video recording.
