Online services in Pakistan continue to remain partially suspended, creating much hassle for millions of online users across the country. Millions of people in various cities are facing slow browsing and downloading, and access issues with popular social media portals such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Even Virtual Private Network (VPN) services have failed to provide stable performance as users depend on them during any kind of outage.Â
Major sectors hit hard
Several vital sectors such as businesses, education, and online services have been affected due to these continuous connectivity problems. Several users have experienced delays in the completion of tasks and communication, thus adding to the frustration of daily life. Digital transactions, online meetings, and other activities have also been affected, thus making it an amplification of a technology-dependent society.
According to sources, it has been surmised that the slowness of accessing social media is related to a firewall from the PTA. Still, it is not known whether it has confirmed or clarified these issues with the public. The situation has confused citizens as no one seems to know the cause of the internet issues nor the probable duration.
While internet services are back up in cities like Islamabad and Rawalpindi following suspension for security purposes lately, the situation, overall, remains unresolved. The citizenry across the nation wants information and hopes the concerned authority will soon take steps to redress the situation.
So, for now, people still face inconvenience and wait for some sort of clear communication and action by the authorities concerned.
