Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office, Lahore has jointly conducted a decisive raid with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle Lahore, against a telecom franchise located at Kot Addu, which was found to be actively operating and issuing illegal SIM cards.

While impounding the safes, the FIA officials have taken into custody some of the vital evidence like 166 fingerprints, a mobile phone, and a laptop from the possession of the franchisee. It is worthwhile mentioning here that the FIA took all these items into custody immediately while investigating it. The presence of fingerprints also speaks volumes of the unlawful activation of SIMs through sham methods which ignored the needful legal process including SIM registration.
